How can I vote?
By Mail: In South Carolina, voting by mail requires an excuse. Eligible voters for absentee ballots include those with employment obligations, attending to a sick or disabled person, confined pending disposition of arrest or trial, absent from their county during voting hours for early voting and on Election Day, or with physical disabilities. The absentee ballot application deadline is 5 p.m. on the 11th day before Election Day, and completed ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Early In-person: South Carolina offers early voting during the two weeks before Election Day, with varying schedules and hours.
Election Day: Voting sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you’re in line by closing time, you have the right to vote.
